Gardens by the Bay with kids can cost nothing if you stay in the Far East Organization Children’s Garden: admission is free, and it opens Thursday to Sunday and on public holidays from 9am to 7pm (last admission 6pm). The conservatories are the paid add-on. On the Singapore Resident tab on 17 October 2026, a child’s ticket (ages 3–12) was S$8 for Flower Dome or Floral Fantasy, S$22 for Cloud Forest with Jurassic World: The Experience and S$32 for the three-attraction combination.

Two things matter now. The Children’s Garden has used a new entrance near the Sun Pavilion since 26 March 2026, and the next conservatory maintenance closures fall on Monday 26 October, Tuesday 3 November and Monday 16 November 2026, among others. This guide is desk research from the Gardens’ own pages. It builds one free-anchor day, then prices the add-on for an illustrative family. For other outings, start at our days out hub.

What is free at Gardens by the Bay for children?

The Children’s Garden is the free anchor. The Gardens’ things-to-do page marks it “Free Admission”, along with Art Sculptures, Bay East Garden and Dragonfly & Kingfisher Lakes. The outdoor gardens, including Supertree Grove, are listed on the hours page as open daily 5am–2am, but the pages we read do not label every outdoor area’s admission, so we have not called them free.

The Gardens’ page lists a Toddler Play Zone with a swaying bridge and water tunnels, Rainforest Tree Houses on a 130-metre trail, a motion-sensor Water Play area and a sheltered amphitheatre. It does not say what applies to a 13-year-old sibling, so confirm before promising a teenager a turn.

The visiting guidelines prohibit bicycles and tricycles, roller skates, skateboards and scooters in the Gardens (cycling is permitted along the Scented Walk in Bay South Garden and around the perimeter of Bay East Garden; wheelchairs and seated mobility scooters are allowed), and ask visitors with strollers or prams to use the lifts, not the escalators. The amenities page lists a nursing room at the Children’s Garden. This is a different place from Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden, which our listing covers.

When is the Children’s Garden open, and which entrance do you use?

  • Usual weeks: Thursday to Sunday and public holidays, 9am–7pm.
  • School holidays: Tuesday to Sunday, same hours. The Gardens list Youth Day, Teachers’ Day, Children’s Day, the day after National Day and the March, June, September and December term breaks.
  • Tuesday exception: the school-holiday Tuesday is marked “closed if the preceding Monday is a public holiday” on the hours page; the attractions page says “public/school holiday”. Check before a Tuesday after a Monday off.

For the year-end break, MOE’s 2026 calendar has schools closed from Saturday 21 November to Thursday 31 December 2026. The Gardens say “December” and do not say whether late November counts, so confirm a Tuesday such as 24 November. MOE also lists Monday 9 November 2026 as a public holiday (Deepavali is on Sunday 8 November); the Children’s Garden lists public holidays among its open days.

The Gardens’ notice says the Waterfront Promenade entrance will be closed in anticipation of works for the Bay South–Bay East bridge, and asks visitors to use the entrance near the Sun Pavilion from 26 March 2026. A separate notice says cyclists have no access along the Promenade from 4 May 2026, while pedestrians can still use it with a slight diversion. The page lists Satay by the Bay Carpark as the nearest carpark. The getting-here page lists Bayfront MRT (Exit B) and Gardens by the Bay MRT (Exit 1) but gives no walking time to the Children’s Garden.

How much does one ticket add? A worked example for four

Take a fictional family for the arithmetic: two adults and two children aged 4 and 8, all Singapore residents. Prices are from the Singapore Resident tab on 17 October 2026, in Singapore dollars including GST, from the Cloud Forest, Flower Dome and Floral Fantasy pages.

  • Children’s Garden only: S$0.
  • Flower Dome, or Floral Fantasy with Disney Garden of Wonder: 2 × S$12 + 2 × S$8 = S$40.
  • Cloud Forest with Jurassic World: 2 × S$26 + 2 × S$22 = S$96.
  • Flower Dome and Cloud Forest together: 2 × S$34 + 2 × S$26 = S$120. Bought separately, (S$12 + S$26) × 2 + (S$8 + S$22) × 2 = S$76 + S$60 = S$136, so the pair is S$16 lower.
  • Three attractions with shuttle service: 2 × S$42 + 2 × S$32 = S$148. Bought separately, (S$12 + S$26 + S$12) × 2 + (S$8 + S$22 + S$8) × 2 = S$100 + S$76 = S$176, so the combination is S$28 lower.

A grandparent aged 60 or above pays the senior price: S$8 for Flower Dome or Floral Fantasy, S$22 for Cloud Forest, S$29 for Flower Dome and Cloud Forest and S$34 for the three-attraction combination (S$40 struck through; that tile says only “Senior”, the others “60 yrs old and above”).

Three cautions. The three-attraction tile shows S$37 struck through beside S$32 for a child, S$49 beside S$42 for an adult and S$40 beside S$34 for a senior. The Gardens’ bundle promotion page lists the same bundle with “Promotion Period: Till 14 Mar 2027”. Neither page labels the struck-through figures or says what the bundle costs afterwards. We read the unstruck figure as the price charged now, so check at checkout. The Non-Resident tab is higher (S$41 for a child on that combination) and lists no Cloud Forest-only ticket on the pages we read. And proof of residency (on the Cloud Forest and Flower Dome pages, also a local bank card) may be required, with ticket upgrades if it cannot be shown. Residents include citizens, permanent residents and those living here on Employment Pass, Work Permit or Dependent Pass.

Our reading, not the Gardens’: the cheapest add-on is S$8 per resident child, and Cloud Forest costs almost three times that. The pages recommend about 1 hour per single attraction, 2 hours for the pair and 3 hours for the combination, so a combination only pays off if you will spend that time. Jurassic World has loud sound effects and flashing lights, and the Gardens ask sensitive guests to plan for them. Child prices cover ages 3–12 and the pages say nothing about under-3s, so ask at a ticketing counter (listed 9am–9pm daily).

Which days should you avoid?

The Gardens close each conservatory for a maintenance day roughly once a month. For the rest of 2026 the hours page lists:

  • Flower Dome: Monday 16 November.
  • Floral Fantasy: Tuesday 3 November; Tuesday 1 December.
  • Cloud Forest: Monday 26 October; Tuesday 17 November.

The page adds that only one cooled conservatory closes at a time and that tickets to one conservatory are on sale on those days. It does not say how combination tickets work then, so ask.

Our inference: every remaining 2026 maintenance closure falls on a Monday or Tuesday, and the Children’s Garden’s usual days are Thursday to Sunday, so a weekend plan is untouched.

The one closure that could meet a Children’s Garden day is Tuesday 1 December, when Floral Fantasy is closed and Disney Garden of Wonder cannot be your add-on. It falls in the year-end holidays, when the Children’s Garden opens Tuesday to Sunday. But the attractions page closes it on a Tuesday after a “public/school holiday” Monday, the hours page says only “public holiday”, and Monday 30 November is inside MOE’s year-end vacation. Read literally, the attractions-page wording would close every Tuesday in the holidays and leave “Tuesday to Sunday” hours meaningless; that is our observation, not the Gardens’ explanation. Confirm before planning 1 December around the Children’s Garden. The hours page now also lists 2027 closures; the first are Tuesday 12 January (Flower Dome), Tuesday 19 January (Cloud Forest) and Wednesday 20 January 2027 (Floral Fantasy).

What does a free-anchor day look like?

One illustrative Saturday. Opening and last-admission times are the Gardens’; the sequencing is ours.

  1. 9am: the Children’s Garden opens. A 4-year-old and an 8-year-old fall into different age zones, so consider one adult for each child.
  2. About 11.30am: leave for a snack and water. Food and drinks are prohibited in Flower Dome and Cloud Forest, and picnics are allowed in most other parts of the Gardens.
  3. From about 1pm: one ticketed attraction. Last admission is 8pm for Cloud Forest and 8.30pm for Flower Dome and Floral Fantasy (which opens at 10am), so you could reverse the order; the Children’s Garden admits until 6pm.
