Which water playground in Singapore is open depends mainly on the day of the week. All five public water play areas read for this guide are scheduled to open together only from Thursday to Sunday and on public holidays. On a Tuesday or Wednesday outside school holidays three are (Coastal PlayGrove, Jacob Ballas and Clusia Cove at Jurong Lake Gardens), and on a Monday that is not a public holiday none is. Clusia Cove was listed as closed for maintenance on 3 October 2026; by 17 October that notice no longer named it, but we found no reopening announcement, so confirm before you go. The weekday counts are our own reading of each operator’s listed days.

Age bands differ too: 2–12 at Jacob Ballas, 5–12 at Coastal PlayGrove, 6–12 for Water Play at the Gardens by the Bay Children’s Garden, no numbers at Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, whose page says “children of all ages”, and none at Clusia Cove. Below are a weekday-by-site matrix and an age-and-weekday pick rule built from each operator’s own page, first read on 3 October 2026 and reread on 17 October 2026. The Coastal PlayGrove and Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park pages were last updated on 14 June 2024 and 27 February 2024, so recheck before you leave. For other outings, start at our days out hub.

At a glance

  • Gardens by the Bay, Far East Organization Children’s Garden (free): Thursday–Sunday and public holidays 9am–7pm, last admission 6pm, water play closes 6.30pm; Tuesday–Sunday in school holidays, with a Tuesday caveat (below). Water Play ages 6–12; Toddler Play Zone ages 1–5. Operator page, no update date shown.
  • Coastal PlayGrove, East Coast Park Area B: water play 8am–8pm, Tuesday–Sunday and Mondays that are public holidays; ages 5–12. NParks page, last updated 14 June 2024.
  • Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park: water playground Thursday–Sunday and public holidays, 8–11am and 4–8pm; “children of all ages”, no numbers. NParks page, last updated 27 February 2024.
  • Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden (free): Waterplay of about 500 square metres, ages 2–12; garden 8am–7pm, last admission 6.30pm, closed Mondays except designated public holidays; no separate Waterplay hours. Botanic Gardens page, last updated 25 September 2026.
  • Jurong Lake Gardens, Clusia Cove: Tuesday–Sunday and public holidays 8am–7pm, closed on Mondays except public holidays; no age band listed. Clusia Cove page, last updated 13 September 2026. Its status is explained below.

Which water playground is open on which day?

This matrix covers an ordinary week outside school holidays. The counts are our arithmetic from the listed days, and treating a day an operator does not list as closed is our reading. None of the water play entries read for this guide says what happens in wet weather, so read “open” as “scheduled”.

  • Monday, not a public holiday: none. Coastal PlayGrove’s water play, Jacob Ballas and Clusia Cove are closed on Mondays; the Children’s Garden and Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park list Thursday to Sunday.
  • Tuesday and Wednesday: three. Coastal PlayGrove, Jacob Ballas and Clusia Cove. In school holidays the Children’s Garden lists these days too, subject to the Tuesday caveat below.
  • Thursday to Sunday: five.
  • A public holiday, including a Monday: five. The Children’s Garden and Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park list public holidays; Coastal PlayGrove, Jacob Ballas and Clusia Cove open on a Monday that is one.
  • The Tuesday after a Monday public holiday: Jacob Ballas only. This is our inference; no page says it. Coastal PlayGrove’s and Clusia Cove’s pages close their water play that Tuesday; the Children’s Garden lists no Tuesday outside school holidays and its caveat closes it inside them; Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park lists none. Jacob Ballas’s page lists a Monday closure but no Tuesday one. Silence is not confirmation: the Coastal PlayGrove, Jurong Lake Gardens and Gardens by the Bay pages each state a closure that Tuesday, so confirm with the Botanic Gardens first.

Clusia Cove is in these counts on the hours its own page lists; check that it has reopened first (see below). One wording gap: the Children’s Garden’s attractions page says it is closed on that Tuesday after a “public/school holiday”, while its hours page says only “public holiday”. For a Tuesday in school holidays, confirm with the Gardens.

Time of day matters too. These are our readings of the listed windows:

  • 8am: four of the five sites are open; the Children’s Garden opens at 9am.
  • 11am–4pm: Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park is not listed as open; the other four are.
  • After 6.30pm: the Children’s Garden’s water play has closed. Jacob Ballas and Clusia Cove close at 7pm, and Jacob Ballas’s page recommends washing up before then. Coastal PlayGrove and Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park run to 8pm.

Which water playground suits my child’s age?

The youngest child usually decides. Pick the weekday first, then read across. “Listed” means the page names that age. Clusia Cove’s page names no age, so it is left out of this list; ask Jurong Lake Gardens.

  • Under 2: Thursday to Sunday and public holidays only (Tuesday to Sunday for the Children’s Garden in school holidays). The Children’s Garden’s Toddler Play Zone is listed for ages 1 to 5 and has water tunnels and a Fish Fountain, so it starts at age 1; Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park says “children of all ages”. Jacob Ballas starts at 2, Coastal PlayGrove at 5.
  • 2 to 4: Jacob Ballas on any day it is open; from Thursday to Sunday also the Toddler Play Zone and Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park.
  • 5: Jacob Ballas or Coastal PlayGrove from Tuesday to Sunday; from Thursday to Sunday also Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park. The Children’s Garden’s Toddler Play Zone still lists age 5, but its Water Play starts at 6.
  • 6 to 12: any of the four sites above on its listed days; on a Tuesday or Wednesday, Coastal PlayGrove or Jacob Ballas.
  • 13 and over: on the wording alone, only Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park’s “children of all ages” could cover this age (our reading). Jacob Ballas’s garden admits children up to 14, but its Waterplay is 2–12; the Children’s Garden is for ages 12 and below.

An illustrative family (fictional): a 4-year-old and an 8-year-old on a Wednesday. Jacob Ballas lists both in one area; Coastal PlayGrove lists 5–12 and leaves the younger child out. On a Saturday the Children’s Garden would put them in two zones, ages 1–5 and 6–12; our suggestion is one adult for each. See our Gardens by the Bay with kids guide for the rest of that garden.

What is closed right now?

On 3 October 2026, the notice on Jurong Lake Gardens’ Play page listed Clusia Cove, Waterwall Court and the toilet in the Sunken Garden as “closed for maintenance until further notice”. On 17 October 2026 the same notice named only Waterwall Court and the Sunken Garden toilet, and Clusia Cove’s page listed its usual hours. We found no reopening announcement, so our reading is that it probably has reopened; confirm before travelling. The same notice said guided tours at Jurong Lake Gardens on 17 October were cancelled because of haze conditions.

At Jacob Ballas, the Tree House is closed after termite damage; the page says NParks is working on a new one and hopes to welcome visitors back around the end of 2027. The notice does not mention the Waterplay. Coastal PlayGrove’s and Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park’s play-area pages list no closure, but they were last updated in 2024, so a recent change might not show. NParks’ East Coast Park page (updated 27 January 2026) lists sections of the Coastal PlayGrove nature playgarden as closed from 30 April to 31 October 2026 and does not name the water play area; see our nature playgardens guide. Its Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park page (also 27 January 2026) lists no water playground closure. For Mondays, see our list of family places closed on Mondays.

How does a public holiday change the matrix?

Take the week of Monday 9 November 2026. Deepavali falls on Sunday 8 November, and MOE’s 2026 calendar lists Monday 9 November as a public holiday; MOM’s page says the Monday is one if your rest day falls on 8 November. Schools are in Term IV until Friday 20 November, and none of the school-holiday dates the Children’s Garden lists falls in that week, so we read its school-holiday hours as not applying.

  • Monday 9 November: five. MOE and MOM treat it as a public holiday and each of the five operators lists public holidays as an open day, but none of their pages names 9 November, so this is our reading; confirm on the day.
  • Tuesday 10 November: Jacob Ballas only (our inference, as in the matrix). Coastal PlayGrove’s water play, Clusia Cove, the Children’s Garden and Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park are not open.
  • Wednesday 11 November: three. Coastal PlayGrove, Jacob Ballas and Clusia Cove.
  • Thursday 12 to Sunday 15 November: five.

MOE’s year-end vacation runs from Saturday 21 November to Thursday 31 December 2026. The Children’s Garden lists “December” among its term-break months and does not say whether late November counts, so confirm a Tuesday such as 24 November. The year-end school holidays plan covers the break itself.

What else differs between the five sites?

Jacob Ballas has mist zones, wading pools, jets, umbrella fountains, a splash bucket and a changing area; supervision is required at all times (Botanic Gardens page, updated 25 September 2026). NParks’ release adds wash zones and seating and says the Waterplay has reopened at more than triple its previous size; the page is dated 3 October 2024 and “Published 25 Feb 2025”. Our Jacob Ballas listing covers that garden alone. Coastal PlayGrove has wading pools linked by a stream of jets that light up at night, and a toilet nearby to dry up and change. The Children’s Garden’s centrepiece uses motion sensors to respond to children’s movement; the entrance to use since 26 March 2026 is near the Sun Pavilion. Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park has sluice gates, foam structures and puddles; its water playground entry mentions no changing area. Clusia Cove’s water mimics tidal patterns, ripples and currents and is cleansed by plants and UV treatment, its page says; it mentions no changing area.

What to check before you go

  • Find your day in the matrix, then open the operator’s page the day before.
  • Before a Tuesday, ask whether the Monday before was a public holiday.
  • At Jacob Ballas, treat 6.30pm last admission and 7pm closing as the outer limits.
  • At Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, plan for 8–11am or 4–8pm.
  • Bring a change of clothes and a towel (our suggestion); of the pages read for this guide, only Jacob Ballas’s and Coastal PlayGrove’s mention changing facilities or a nearby toilet.
  • On a hazy day, check the PSI first with our haze guide. For a rained-off or Monday plan, see Plan B for family outings and the family day-out planner.
  • Supervision: Jacob Ballas’s page requires adult supervision at all times at the Waterplay, and the Children’s Garden admits adults only with a child aged 12 or under. This guide lists ages and hours; it does not assess safety, so follow each operator’s own signs and rules.
  • This is not a full list. NParks’ water play areas page (last updated 10 October 2023) has a “Find a water play area” search for its other parks; we did not read its results.

Common questions

Which water playground in Singapore is open on Monday?

None of the five covered here on an ordinary Monday. On a Monday that is a public holiday, the Children’s Garden, Coastal PlayGrove, Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, Jacob Ballas and Clusia Cove all list it as an open day.

What age is the Jacob Ballas Waterplay for?

Ages 2–12, with adult supervision at all times. It spans about 500 square metres, and the garden admits children up to 14.

Is Clusia Cove at Jurong Lake Gardens open?

Probably, but confirm first. On 3 October 2026 Jurong Lake Gardens listed it as closed for maintenance until further notice; on 17 October 2026 that notice no longer named it, and its page listed Tuesday to Sunday and public holidays, 8am to 7pm. We found no reopening announcement.

How late can children use the water play at Gardens by the Bay?

Water play closes at 6.30pm and last admission to the Children’s Garden is 6pm. It opens Thursday to Sunday and public holidays, 9am–7pm, and Tuesday to Sunday in school holidays, except a Tuesday after a Monday holiday (its two pages word that exception differently). Water Play is listed for ages 6–12.

What are the Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park water playground hours?

Thursday to Sunday and public holidays, 8–11am and 4–8pm, per an NParks page last updated on 27 February 2024. The page says “children of all ages” and gives no numeric age limit.
